Q. How do I get started?
A. For more information visit the Get Started page, then the Request Service page to set up a Pet Care Consultation. Feel free to call us at 919.720.415 or email us.

Q. What happens during the consultation?
A. We’ll meet with you and your pets, review your pet and/or house-sitting information, see where you keep things to care for your home and pets, test home access and if applicable alarm system and collect payment. For more details, please visit Get Started.

Q. How often are consults and updates required?
A. The only time you will need another consultation is if you should change residence, your pet’s care changes (i.e.: requires medical or other special attention), or we need to get acquainted with a new addition to your pet family. We ask clients to review and update their portal prior to every trip to ensure we have the most current home and pet care information. This can be done 24/7 by logging into Timetopet.com/portal/login.

Q. Once I am a client, how do I schedule service?
A. Clients are now able to schedule services online through their portals either online at Timetopet or through your Time to Pet phone app. Here is the link to the easy-to-use guide on how to schedule, modify and cancel service: https://www.timetopet.com/portal/help

You will receive a confirmation of your reservation through your Time to Pet phone app and your email. Reservations are not guaranteed until this is received.

Q. Can I book last-moment service?
A. We always try to accommodate our clients needs, even with short notice, but we can not guarantee service as we may be booked up on the dates/times requested, particularly over major holidays. In these situations we ask you to contact the office at 919.720.4156.

Q. Can I share pet sitting duties with friends, family or neighbors?
A. We know you trust the people you give access to your home. Unfortunately due to insurance and liability reasons and concern for consistent and seamless care of your pets and home, we are not able to accommodate this request.

Q. How can we be kept informed of our pet while gone?
A. We understand how important it is to have peace of mind that your kids are doing well!  You will receive a real time message while your pet sitter is at your home through your Time to Pet phone app including a visit report and photos.

Q. What can I expect when I return home?
A. A very cheerful greeting from your happy and healthy pets, as well as your home just as you left it – everything in its proper place. Please send us a message through your pet care portal to let us know your pets are physically back in your care. We ask our clients to do this so we can be sure no pet is left uncared for.

Q. Can I trust Bone·A·Fide Pet Care?
A. All sitters are mature adults who are rigorously screened prior to hiring including a background check.  They are bonded and fully insured through Business Insurers of the Carolinas. We value the trust you place in us, and do not share your information with anyone outside of our company. Only management and your pet care specialist has access to your information. We utilize a key lockbox system Each new client consultation includes a realtor style lockbox which clients will keep two tested keys to the entrance we are to use. Just leave it in the pre-designated area before each trip.

This system has many advantages over us keeping your keys on file:

• Clients are in control of their keys as they maintain them instead of us. Just put the lockbox with keys in the designated area prior to each service.

• If another sitter from our company needs to fill in for your primary on short notice, we can provide care faster since the keys are at your home in the lockbox. No need to arrange key pick up from the office!

• If there is severe inclement weather and your neighbor needs to care for your pets, they can quickly access your home. No more leaving keys around the neighborhood!
where we only access your keys when providing care.

Q. What does bonded and insured mean?
A. We are covered by a dishonesty bond that reimburses you in the unlikely event anything is stolen from your home while it is in our sole care.

In addition, because we are a professional pet care provider, we are covered by a liability insurance policy that protects you from monetary loss in the unlikely event we are responsible for any accidents that occur while caring for your pets and home.
